Llandrindod Wells Victorian Festival

Join the Suffragettes at the Victorian Festival

When: 17th – 25th August 2013

Where: Llandrindod Wells, Powys, Wales

£: Some events are ticketed but much of the daytime entertainment is free (see this year’s programme for full details)

What is it?

Head to the historic spa town of Llandrindod Wells for their annual nine-day Victorian Festival.

The festival kicks off on 17th August with big top entertainment from Panic Circus at 12 noon.  This will be followed by a Great Victorian Bake Off, a Ukulele Fiesta and a Victorian Fancy Dress Ball.  Make sure you watch out for ‘Queen Victoria’ arriving at the station.

On the following days the festival will have guided walks, cream teas, a ukulele workshop, talks and theatre shows. Why not dress up in Victorian or nautical costume to see the Nautical Naughties Night (or Mutiny on the Bountiful) by the LlandrindodWells Theatre Company?  How about attending a servant’s ball or joining in with a croquet tournament?

The 28th International Street Organ Festival takes place at the Bandstand on the 23rd August along with a Vintage Fair at Rock Park.

On the final day there will be a Suffragette March and Demonstration with guest appearances from ‘Florence Nightingale’ and ‘Matron Alice Fisher’, a Grand Torchlight Procession and a Fireworks Display to wrap up the festival.
