What is it?
The scarecrows first came to Kettlewell in 1994 and now attract thousands of visitors during August.
Kettlewell is a picturesque village situated in the Yorkshire Dales and visitors are encouraged to explore some of the more unusual nooks and crannies around Kettlewell during the festival. Walk the themed Scarecrow Trail and see what you find hidden around the next corner. This year’s theme is signs of the zodiac for the adults trail and books for children’s trail. The trail challenges participants to solve the riddles in order to find the mystery word and takes around two hours to complete.
Why not take a picnic and make a day of it? The Kettlewell area has plenty of good picnic spots to choose from. Alternatively, the village has several tea rooms and pubs serving food and drink, refreshments will also be served in the village hall. Money raised in the village hall goes towards the festival.
