It’s hot, hot, hot at the Chilli Fiesta

£: Friday daytime tickets cost £8.60 for adults and 90p for children.  Saturday and Sunday daytime tickets cost £11.30 for adults and 90 for children (per day).  A one-day pass with camping costs from £28.50 for adults and from £10 for children.  A three-day pass with camping costs from £85 for adults and from £30 for children.

What is it?

The Chilli Fiesta is an annual food festival in homage to the chilli.  This year, for the first time, the Chilli Fiesta will also have camping available to those who want to make a weekend of it.

The Chilli Fiesta will have  over 140 stalls with quirky gifts, chilli foods, plants and seeds on offer. There will also be food demos,  three bars, live music and a fair.  Explore the Glasshouses in the Walled Gardens which will have over 250 varieties of chilli growing.

The live music takes place from midday until 11pm each day across two stages.  The daily musical entertainment will come from Latin Fiesta, playing lively and popular modern salsa and Cumbia playing pop-Latin and merengue dance hits.  Mariachi Tequila, a band of professional Latin musicians specialising in traditional Mexican popular Mariachi and Latin American music and Katari Panpipes specialising in haunting melodies of Peru, Bolivia and the Andes will also be playing.  There will be more music in the evening from the likes of Andalus – Gipsy Kings Rumba Band, Lemon Pye and the London Gay Big Band.

In the children’s area there will be vintage fun fair rides, a traditional Punch and Judy show and face painting. Horton’s Vintage Steam Fair will have attractions for children of all ages including a lovingly restored round-a-bout from the 1940s and a 1920s traditionally decorated chair–o-plane.  In addition there will be a merry-go-round featuring ten genuine 1950s Austin J40 pedal cars.
