What is it?

The Whiston Festival of Brass aims to promote brass band music and raises money for charity.  The festival and brass band contest takes place in the village of Whiston in Yorkshire on 6th July.

The day will see brass bands marching through the village to the contest venue at The Sitwell Arms.  In the evening there will be a last night at the proms style ‘Brass for all” concert featuring Strata Brass.

As well as the bands there will be a fun fair, craft stalls, ice cream and a hog roast.  The Sitwell Arms will also be hosting a beer festival featuring over 30 real ales from around the UK.
