Fishing around for something to do? How about the Dorset Seafood Festival?

What is it?

The Dorset Seafood Festival will have chef demonstrations, food stalls, fishing experts, competitions and a cross-harbour swim.

There will also be a special free pop up with films, DJs and music.  Wrack and Drift will be showing cult films as well as films by local artists.  They will also be showing the silent film 20,000 Leagues under the Sea with a live soundtrack.

Dorset Seafood Festival 2013 The Business of Fishing will see fishing experts in discussion about the industry as well as giving oyster shucking displays.

The festival opens at 10am on the Saturday (13th July) and goes on until 6pm.  The  pop-up cinema screening of 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea will start at 9.30pm, running until 11.30pm.  The festival will then reopen on the Sunday (14th July) at 11am and close again at 6pm.

The festival will be raising money for The Royal National Mission to Deep Sea Fishermen. The Fishermen’s Mission is the only fishermen’s charity that provides emergency support alongside practical and emotional care.
