What is it?
Platform33 brings its unique brand of cross-genre performance to Kings Place for one day only, combining contemporary dance, classical music and performance art.
Platform33’s unique events give each act 33 minutes to take to the stage, give a performance and share some of the thoughts and processes behind their work.
The eclectic programme at Kings Place includes a performance of Studies for C choreographed by Javier de Frutos and performed by Candoco Dance Company. The discussion beforehand will explore how the piece was devised and how disability affects the creative process and the way these dancers work.
Music by acclaimed composer Charlotte Bray will be performed by the Benyounes String Quartet and soloists. Between pieces, Charlotte will introduce her work, and how she approaches composition.
The third act will be London institution, the Hackney Colliery Band, mixing it up with their brass and beats. DJ Ed-Word will provide music between the acts.
Platform33 are a non-profit collective who organise events to showcase the most incredible artists from completely different genres. Each one of their events is totally unique. Platform33 try to find the most interesting venues, curating the perfect balance of eclectic artists, then topping it off with the best DJs in London town.
