What is it?

SO Festival is a free festival, taking place across Skegness and East Lindsey, Lincolnshire’s coastal district, between 28th June and 7th July 2013.

With Skegness and Lincolnshire’s market towns set to be transformed into a colourful carnival of dance, art installations, street theatre, music and more, SO Festival offers something for everyone to enjoy during ten days of spectacular shows and events not to be missed.

SO Festival - The Big Bang With some of the UK’ s top dance, music and street theatre acts performing on the east coast, prepare to be amazed at this year’s event where you can meet an iron giant, a 125-million year old dinosaur and a pair of Abba-obsessed Vikings, in addition to acrobats and giant planets soaring above the streets during the festival’s finales.

Opera enthusiasts can picnic on the beach while taking in a big screen beach broadcast of Hansel and Gretel and dance fanatics can enjoy performances from some of the country’s top dance crews, including London’s C-12 Dance Theatre.

For those looking for a laugh, the country’s top street theatre acts hit the town with heaps of hilarity including two clumsy waiters, a pair of pink-haired dinner ladies and a pack of overly-mature girl scouts; while music buffs can rock out during a concert featuring Lincolnshire’s most talented unsigned and undiscovered artists during a BBC Introducing Outdoor Concert.
