What is it?
The Design Museum in London has partnered with design company Vitra to create a pop-up garden on the River Thames to celebrate the arrival of summer.
Housed in the museum’s display area on the riverfront (The Tank) the garden brings together some of the biggest names in design such as Charles and Ray Eames, Jasper Morrison, Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec, Edward Barber and Jay Osgerby and Verner Panton, through a series of classic furniture designs as well as new works.
Surrounding the garden are seating areas where visitors can sit and relax in the heart of London and have lunch from the Design Museum Café, taking in the great views of the Thames and Tower Bridge.
The Design Museum pop-up garden is on display in the Design Museum Tank, located on the River Thames outside the museum, from Friday 10th May and all the pieces on display are available from the Design Museum Shop and designmuseumshop.com.
