What is it?
Wakefield’s premiere music festival, Long Division, will take place at various venues across the city centre from 7th – 9th June including The Hepworth, The Orangery (a grade II listed building), pubs, clubs and even a disused library.
The Saturday line up so far includes The Chapman Family, Eagulls, Let’s Wrestle, Buen Chico, The Shaking Whips, Dead Flowers, Raevennan Husbandes, Micky P Kerr, Soulmates Never Die, Neil McSweeney, Boxing Klub, jamiesaysmile, Crowds, Glass Caves, Jasmine Kennedy & Thomas Wilby Gang who will all be joining The Fall, Jeffrey Lewis and Ghostpoet.
Also performing on the day will be award-winning comedians Josie Long & Robin Ince who will be recording their podcast live at the Wakefield Theatre Royal.
A compilation album has also been released to coincide with the festival. Division One is available now and includes tracks from Jeffrey Lewis as well as This Is The Kit, The Sunbeams, Middleman, The Coopers, The State Of Georgia, Too Many T’s, Mark Wynn, O Messy Life, Imp, Crowds, Boxing Klub, jonnythefirth, The Exhibition, The Do’s, Thomas Wilby Gang, jamiesaysmile and Jasmine Kennedy. It is available through Long Division’s Bandcamp with listeners donating to The Ben Manning Music Foundation in return for the album.
