What is it?

Cloud Dance Sundays is a new collaboration by Cloud Dance Festival and The Lion & Unicorn Theatre to offer a monthly evening of contemporary dance and modern ballet.  Set in the cosy and intimate setting of the Lion & Unicorn Theatre in Kentish Town on Sunday evenings, it’s a perfect way to wrap up the week.

Cloud Dance Sundays shares Cloud Dance Festival’s aims of making contemporary dance and ballet more accessible to new audiences, and presenting the most promising and talented artists working in this field. All in the comfort of the cosy and intimate Lion & Unicorn Theatre in Kentish Town – a venue which has previously seen performances by Antonia Franceschi, Ballet Black, Rambert Dance Company and Richard Alston Dance Company.

Cloud Dance Sunday - Lion & Unicorn Theatre Approximately once a month, depending on availability, three or four works will be presented on a Sunday evening; ensuring that the show finishes early enough for people to enjoy the pub downstairs before travelling home.

The launch night will be on Sunday 19th May, featuring works by New Adventures Choreographer Award runner-up Tom Jackson Greaves, and promising young choreographer John Ross, nominated for What’s On Stage’s Best Choreographer Award.

The second evening will be held on Sunday 21st July, with further performances planned for the summer and autumn.

Cloud Dance Sundays will run alongside Cloud Dance Festival, which will be returning later this year, and will focus on developing dance audiences in local communities, and supporting gifted dance artists.
