What is it?
Gain exclusive insight into the Wroxeter Roman Town House project with a special tour led by its designer and archaeologist, Professor Dai Morgan Evans as well as one of the builders. Find out more about the project and how it has evolved. Tours take place at 11am and 2pm. The tour and talk will last approximately 2 hours. You are advised to wrap up warm as there is no heating in the town house. The ticket price includes a tea or coffee.
Wroxeter or Viroconium as the Romans would have known it, was the fourth largest city in Roman Britain. First built as a legionary fortress, it was later developed into a thriving civilian city. The Wroxeter Roman Town House is a joint project between English Heritage and Channel 4.
