When: From 3rd March 2013

Where: Wrest Park, Silsoe, Luton, Bedfordshire MK45 4HR

£: Adults 10 and members 5 per event (ticket price includes entry to the event only)

What is it?

Historically, the women of Wrest Park shared a love of books.  Throughout March, enjoy a range of lectures which reflect this strong historical and literary tradition.

The literary season begins on 3rd March with The Real Life Downton Abbey: How Life was Lived in Stately Homes a Century Ago.  The event is a chance to join author Jacky Hyams and learn about the research and inspiration for her book about the real Downton Abbey.  The event begins at 11am and there will be an opportunity to get a signed copy of Hyams’ book.

On 10th March join Linda Porter who will be discussing the Tudors and the Stewarts, the subjects of her new book.  Author Robert Low‘s trilogy The Kingdom Series will be the subject of the event on 17th March.  The next event on 24th March will be a talk by novelist Sara Sheridan on ‘How to be a Lady’.  Sheridan will look at women in society over the last 250 years.

Light refreshments are included in the price of the ticket.
