When: 8th February 2013, 10am – 11.30am & 12pm – 1.30pm

Where: Chesters Roman Fort and Museum, Hadrian’s Wall, Northumberland

£: Adults 5.20 and members 4.70 (ticket price includes entry to event plus entry to the site)

What is it?

Every year the stone altars and sculpture at Chesters Museum have to be cleaned.  This year the conservator and curator are inviting you along to help with this dusty task!

Learn more about the stones on display, where they came from and what they can tell us about aspects of life along Hadrian’s Wall.  You will be using hand-held vacuum cleaners and other cleaning equipment to help look after these items which are nearly 2000 years old; it may not be glamorous but it ensures these important items are retained for future generations.
