Identify Mystery Objects from Victorian Times at Ryde Library and Museum of Island History, Isle of Wight When: 27th & 28th February 2013

Where: Ryde Library and Museum of Island History, Isle of Wight

£: Free

What is it?

A collection of mystery objects from the Victorian era will be on display at Ryde Library and the Museum of Island History on the Isle of Wight at the end of February.  Handle and investigate the various weird and wonderful items and talk to the museum team who will help you try to identify how they would have been put to good use by our predecessors.

Amongst the mysterious objects on display will be a sail maker’s seaming palm, moustache cup and button hook – will you be able to identify which is which?

The temporary exhibition will visit Ryde Library in George Street on Wednesday, 27th February between 2pm and 4pm and the Museum of Island History in Newport’s historic Guildhall at a similar time on Thursday, 28th February.
