Enter a noir-ish world with Brainville at Night

By Caroline King - February 11, 2013Posted in : Theatre

Theatre - Brainville at Night - Brockley Jack When: 14th – 23rd February 2013 at 7.45pm

Where: Jack Studio Theatre, 410 Brockley Road, London SE4 2DH

£: 13, 10 concessions

What is it?

Step into the belly of the Blue Whale, where the dancers are hot and the music is cool.  You’re handed a drink sent by a mysterious woman at the end of the bar, who invites you to take a trip on her own special rollercoaster.

First Draft‘s Brainville at Night is a stylish adventure into the film noir-ish world of Ingrid’s memories and imagination.  So what if the doctors tell her that she lacks insight and the ability to empathise?  Nothing is going to stop Ingrid; labels like “fronto-temporal dementia” never meant anything to her anyway.  Whatever happens, she carries the love, excitement and romance of her life within her.

Featuring music, movement, projection and a fantastic ensemble cast, Brainville at Night is a new play by Alexander Moschos, transferring to the Jack Studio for a strictly limited run of eight performances.  It follows director Matthew Parker’s previous Jack Studio successes with A Woman Alone and Mary Rose in his trademark imaginative style.
