What is it?

Enter the magical world of Lewis Carroll in this enchanting trail around the gardens at Belsay Hall.  There are six characters to find along the paths that lead visitors through the gardens.  There’s a certificate prize for all who complete the Trail.  The event runs throughout half term and is suitable for all the family.

Whilst you are there why not uncover the hidden heritage of the hall?  Find out whose face is carved in the Castle’s log store and other secrets.

Belsay Hall, Castle and Gardens are the creation of the Middleton family, over more than seven centuries.  The Hall itself is inspired by the temples of ancient Greece, with fabulous pillars, whilst the castle offers stunning views from the top of the tower.   The high point of Belsay is the unique Quarry Garden which features a fantasy of ravines, pinnacles and exotic plants.
