Piping Live! is a week-long piping event across various venues in Glasgow.  The festival is complete with concerts, exhibitions, workshops, tours and competitions all with a piping theme.

The main events include the opening night concert, The International Quartet Concert, New Folk Friday and the After Worlds Shindig.  A craft fair takes place in George Square where you can sample Scottish food and crafts.  Also in the square you can try your hand at drumming from Monday to Friday at 10am.

On the Monday you could try your hand at bagpipes at The National Piping Centre, or enjoy some Piping in George Square.  On Tuesday there’s a family fun day at The National Piping Centre as well as a Pipe Idol competition. Wednesday sees Ro:Toro from Estonia present their unique bagpipe tradition in George Square and Boghall and Bathgate Caledonia Pipe Band are in concert at Glasgow Royal Concert Hall.  On Thursday you can catch the bi-lingual Glaschu nan Gaidheal Bus Tour and learn about the Gaels in Glasgow.  Friday Dougie Murray will give a talk and demonstration at The College of Piping.
