What is it?

A celebration of community arts, Lafrowda Festival is an annual event in St. Just in Penwith, Cornwall.  Lafrowda is the ancient name for the church lands where St. Just in Penwith stands today.

The first Lafrowda Festival took place in 1996 and has developed from a music festival into a two-week community arts festival.  During the festival fortnight Lafrowda provides an opportunity for local groups to showcase the wealth of creative talent in the St Just area.  A wide range of organisations take part with something happening every day, from music and comedy to drama and dance.

Lafrowda Festival, annual event in St. Just in Penwith, Cornwall Lafrowda Day (the third Saturday in July) takes place on 21st July and is marked with the closing of roads and the decorations going up.  From hip hop to harmony, from folk to funk, there are twelve hours of free entertainment to suit every taste as well as three spectacular processions.  If that wasn’t enough there are street performers, stalls, refreshments and bouncy castles.
