Paddle your way to victory in a tin bath!

By Caroline King - July 2, 2012Posted in : Alternative Sport

When: 7th July 2012 at 2.30pm

Where: Middle Harbour, Castletown, Isle of Man

£: Adults 3 and children 1

What is it?

The World Tin Bath Championship is an annual event that raises money for charity in a fun and quirky way.

First taking place in 1971, the championship usually attracts around a hundred competitors as well as many spectators.  The event is pretty much as it sounds as people, dressed in various costumes, race around the harbour in customised tin baths.

If that wasn’t crazy enough for you, there is also the Snake Race where six people race on an inflated tube and for the kids there is the Rope Drop.
