Pancake flipping contest at Blists Hill in Shropshire

Watch and join-in Pancake Flipping at Blists Hill Victorian Town When: 18th – 21st February 2012 (daily at 12 noon)

Where: Blists Hill Victorian Town, near Ironbridge, Shropshire

£: Annual Passport Ticket allowing entry into Blists Hill and the other nine Ironbridge Gorge Museums, valid for twelve months with unlimited return visits, costs 22.50 per adult, 18.25 for the 60 plus, 14.75 for students and children and 61.50 for a family of two adults and three children (aged up to 18 years in full time education); under 5s free.  Individual museum entry tickets are also available.

What is it?

Watch the ladies of Blists Hill Victorian Town, near Ironbridge as they take part in the annual pancake flipping contest held outside the Print Shop.  Everyone is encouraged to cheer on the participants who must all wear an apron and flip their pancakes as many times as possible in the one minute allocated.  The Victorian Policeman will be attendance to ensure fair play by all and the village school teacher will be handing out certificates to the winners.  After the contest visitors can also have a go at pancake flipping.
