What is it?

British Taiwanese artist Chien-Wei Chang has produced an exhibition of incredible sculptures using eco-retailer, Demijohn’s recycled glass bottles.  The exhibition entitled Don’t Look Back! I Told You So is on at Leicester’s New Walk Museum & Art Gallery.

Demijohn liked Chang’s approach to recycling and his transformation of everyday objects, so agreed to sponsor him by providing a huge amount of old glass bottles that had been handed in for recycling.  Chang loved the unusual shapes and quirky nature of the bottles and designed the whole exhibition around them by grouping them into different arrangements to create a striking sculptural installation.

Chien-Wei Chang has produced these works under The Shape of Things craft initiative which is funded by Arts Council England.  Chang is best known for his silver and metal work but in this exhibition has moved into another natural material – glass – alongside exquisitely crafted homemade objects.
