Horsing around in Central London

By Caroline King - January 31, 2012Posted in : Alternative Sport

Gaucho Micro Polo & Gaucho International Polo at O2 arena When: 31st January 2012 (the larger event at The O2 Arena takes place on 21st March 2012)

Where: Swallow Street, Piccadilly, London (main event at The O2 arena)

£: Free (tickets for the O2 arena event are 20)

What was it?

There aren’t many times that you can walk down a street in Central London to find it turfed over and being used for fun and games. At 8am in the morning you could be forgiven to think you are seeing things, but no, the horses were really there. On Swallow Street outside the Gaucho restaurant was a mini polo pitch complete with two one-man teams playing as though it was an everyday occurrence.

Gaucho Micro Polo & Gaucho International Polo at O2 arena Taking to the pitch was England’s Jamie Morrison, and Argentinian player Oscar Mancini.  The event was held to mark the launch of The Gaucho International Polo at The O2 arena in London on 21st March 2012.
