What is it?
White Rabbit present Are You Sitting Comfortably? A Dickens Special at Jacksons Lane in North London. White Rabbit have been creating sell-out story-telling nights for grown-ups around the UK since 2008.
Bernadette Russell, Gareth Brierley and special guest readers invite audiences from out of the London fog to this extra special night inspired by Charles Dickens, in celebration of his bicentenary. Away from the clutches of Jack Frost’s icy fingers, the dank dark mystery of 19th century London will be brought to life amidst beautiful visuals and sweetly old-fashioned live music.
Bernadette Russell is a writer, actor and comedian who recently penned the acclaimed sell-out romp Penny Dreadful’s Etherdome. Gareth Brierley is an actor and writer who has worked with numerous companies including the RSC, Forced Entertainment and Station House Opera. In this Charles Dickens special, they will preside over a night of storytelling, competitions and Victorian parlour games.
White Rabbit are inviting local writers to submit original stories for the evening. Writers who would like their work to be considered for this evening should submit stories of around 1000 words, inspired by Dickens, by 9 February, to areyousittingcomfortably@live.com. So if you like a good story or are a budding writer, what the Dickens are you waiting for?
