Fossil hunting walks on the Isle of Wight

Fossil Hunting Walks, Yaverland Beach, Isle of Wight with Dinosaur Isle When: 10th & 29th December 2011

Where: Yaverland Beach near Sandown, Isle of Wight

£: 4.50 per adult, 2.75 per child (aged between 3 and 15 years) and 4 for seniors and students.  Family tickets (for two adults and two children) 14 and 16 (for two adults and three children).

What is it?

Take a break from Christmas festivities with a gentle stroll along Yaverland Beach near Sandown on the Isle of Wight.  The two fossil hunting walks will be led by experts from Dinosaur Isle.  Dinosaur Isle is Britain’s first purpose-built dinosaur museum and features life-size replicas in a recreated landscape depicting life on Earth 125 million years ago.

Fossil Hunting Walks, Yaverland Beach, Isle of Wight with Dinosaur Isle The two walks, departing at 2.30pm on 10th December and 10am on 29th December, will give participants the chance to discover what Cretaceous fossils the winter storms may have uncovered on the sands of Yaverland.
