RedCape present 1 Beach Road

By Caroline King - October 7, 2011Posted in : Theatre

RedCape presents 1 Beach Road at Jacksons Lane When: 19th – 22nd October 2011 at 8pm

Where: Jacksons Lane, 269a Archway Road, London N6 5AA

£: 12.95/10.95

What is it?

What is it like to lose everything – your memories and your home?

The award-winning RedCape, creators of The Idiot Colony, return to Jacksons Lane with a brand new show about defiance, a shrinking island, synchronized swimming and trying to turn back the tide.  As the sea gradually encroaches the shoreline, it swallows a row of bungalows and eats its way to the back door of “1 Beach Road”.  Victoria and Jane stand on the edge of a precipice pondering how they’ll go on.  Drawing on real life stories and research, 1 Beach Road uses physical storytelling to explore the metaphorical relationship between Alzheimer’s and England’s disappearing coastal towns.  A moving and humorous account of a poignant subject.
