What is it?
The team behind boutique festival Winterwell are hosting a truly terrifying Halloween party at FILMPLUS, a rambling and atmospheric old brick warehouse in West London. Pervasive and interactive games and theatre will transport revellers into a world of magic and mystery, with a truly terrifying fancy dress theme ‘The Cursed and The Damned’.
Revellers will arrive at the converted warehouse which overlooks the iconic St Mary’s Cemetery in Kensal Green, where the ghosts of romantic hero Byron’s wife and sister are said to haunt. Enter by a mysterious shrouded land complete with cobbled courtyard and light projections, enjoying a cabaret reception with performances by some truly terrifying ghosts and ghouls.
There will be three rooms hosting live performances set to wake the dead. Room One will offer a great blend of house and electro with headliner Norman Jay, The Jinks, Jay and Lorry, Ellie Shepherd and DJ Ted. The second room will offer an eclectic mix of swing, ska, rock n roll, dirty blues and soul with CountSizzle, Konal and Tom Palli. Room Three will have more of a hip hop vibe with Chris Wilky, Mr and Mr, Lou Young, Ben Lewis.
Other spooktakular surprises will include food served in the courtyard, a chill out area as well as a secret room never seen before. For those who want to start the party earlier there will also be a thrilling pervasive adventure ‘The Curious Circumstances Around Gertrude Gribble’ which begins at the Mason’s Arms pub in Kensal Green and leads through the area. Participants will come across a variety of characters and situations as they try to piece the story together and find a solution to the circumstances that left a small, previously innocent girl trapped in space and unable to move on – until now. A supplementary ticket costing £5 can to be purchased alongside the main party ticket for this adventure.
