What is it?
The Norwich Puppet Theatre has a special showing of The Lost World (1925) with a completely new score written by Norwich’s rock project, The Shadow Committee. The Lost World is a 1925 silent film based on Arthur Conan Doyle’s book of the same name. It follows a group of explorers as they head to the lost world in search of dinosaurs.
Joshua Rayman, the man behind The Shadow Committee and the new score, says: “I chose The Lost World because it’s a silent film that is still watchable today. It has an intriguing storyline and the stop-motion animation was very impressive for the time.”
With a fresh, contemporary score, the film is set to bring people into a world of silent film they never knew existed. The score features guitars, pianos and synths, all of which are brought together by heavy bass and drums.
Along with the live scoring of The Lost World by The Shadow Committee, there will also be performances from Collider, Deer and Tortoise Family Connections.
