This September families get their hands dirty in Hertfordshire

By Caroline King - August 24, 2011Posted in : FEATURED-STORIES, Festival, Food & Drink

Willows Farm Village – the Potato Shindig, Hertfordshire When: Every weekend during September 2011

Where: Willows Farm Village, near St Albans, Hertfordshire

£: See www.willowsfarmvillage.com

What is it?

Families who visit Willows Farm Village during weekends throughout September can enjoy its new Potato Shindig activity.

Having planted an acre of Picasso potatoes in its Potato Patch, Willows are expecting a bumper crop this autumn.  Every child admission to the attraction will have the opportunity to visit the patch and harvest their own free bag of potatoes, to be enjoyed for supper that night.  As a farming based attraction, the event has been designed to help children understand the link between field and fork and develop an awareness of where the food they eat comes from.

Visitors can also enjoy a full day’s programme of farmyard animals, adventure play, shows, fun fair rides and under cover soft play.
