The Knight’s Tournament

By Caroline King - May 11, 2011Posted in : Heritage

When: 28th – 30th May 2011, 11am – 5pm

Where: Belsay Hall, Castle and Gardens, Northumberland

£: Adults 8.50, concessions 7.50, children 5.  English Heritage members free.  All children are welcome to join in the Time Travellers Go… events although an additional £1 will be charged on standard admission for every child, member and non member, to help fund this entertainment activity.

What is it?

Marvel at the Medieval Knights as they take part in the Knight’s Tournament.  Watch these four brave armoured Knights and their squires, representing the North, South, East and West as they compete in archery and the fantastic Crest Melee.  In between the competitions enjoy a display of poleaxe combat, and browse the authentic Living History Encampment.  Listen to period music and laugh out loud to our own medieval Jester.  Plus there are Time Traveller activities each day.
