Thirsty Work: Seven Stars in London

By Caroline King - March 20, 2011Posted in : Food & Drink, Review

Seven Stars pub, Carey St in London Where: 53-54, Carey St, London, WC2A 2JB

The verdict:

The Seven Stars is located near the Royal Courts of Justice, hence the wigs on the animal skulls in the window of the pub.  This tiny pub is uniquely decorated, slightly shabby and usually busy.

It serves a small selection of real ales which are well kept. There is a small blackboard with a few light meal options for the hungry; the food is well done although not especially cheap. The toilets are up a rickety set of stairs so not for those with mobility issues.  The weekend crowd is a little more diverse than on week nights with a mix of tourists, locals and those in the know.   The service and the clientele have been friendly enough the times I’ve been in if not overly chatty.
