What is it?
Lucy Bailey directs the London premiere of Snake in the Grass, a rarely performed Alan Ayckbourn play described by the playwright as ‘a ghost play’. Snake in the Grass is just the second full production for newly launched theatre The Print Room, following a critically acclaimed production of Pasolini’s Fabrication, and continuing the venue’s commitment to showcasing lesser known works by celebrated writers.
Following the death of their cruel and tyrannical father, Annabel returns to the family home to be re-united with her sister, Miriam. Their father’s former nurse, Alice, accuses Miriam of murdering her father, and attempts to blackmail the sisters. As the sisters deal with Alice’s threats, they find themselves haunted by the ghosts of their past. The production stars Susan Wooldridge as Annabel, Sarah Woodward as Miriam and Mossie Smith as Alice.
