What is it?

The inaugural Fire and Steel festival is taking place in Redcar, Teesside on 19th February 2011.  ‘Keeping the Flame Alive’ will be an event highlighting the spirit and tradition of Teesside and to celebrate over 150 years of steel-making.  This unique festival will include a spectacular torch lit procession with costumes, a fantastic sculpture depicting Redcar’s heritage of steel, local musicians, fire decorations and much more.  The procession kicks off at 17.30 at the Redcar Bowl, Majuba Road, so why not pop along and support this free community event?
