Thirsty work: Vespa Caffe aka Scooter Caffe

The verdict?

Just around the corner from Waterloo station is this little gem of a bar.  Blink and you’d probably miss it, this little café/bar is eclectically decorated with various retro objects and a mish mash of furniture, signs and lights.  There is a small outdoor area at the back for the hardy.  The place has a nice relaxed vibe to it with a youngish crowd of 20 and 30 somethings.

There are no drinks on draught instead there is a choice of bottled beer (Cerveza Pacifico Clara, Paulaner and  Red Stripe when we visited) and many spirits.  If you fancy something non-alcoholic then they serve coffee from a decent looking Italian coffee machine as well as soft drinks including ginger beer.  A few snacks are also available and serivce is friendly as you’d expect.

The toilet is down a spiral staircase and is a little unusual to say the least.  The handle on the flush was missing when we visited meaning you had to put your hand in the cistern which is a tad off putting!  Hopefully this minor setback has been fixed now.
