What is it?
The National Forest Wood Fair is an annual event with entertainment for all the family. The National Forest is a forest in the making, transforming 200 square miles of central England. More than 7 million trees have been planted and woodland cover has increased from 6% to 18%.
Events at the fair include live demonstrations of woodworking skills, craft displays and chainsaw sculpting. For children there are stories from the Wild Man of the Woods, birds of prey, craft activities, archery and a climbing wall. Find out all about the woodlands from tree planting to felling.
If you are feeling peckish then head to the Food Area for some locally produced food. Plus there is a lumberjack show, a chainsaw speed carve, a charity auction and a programme of talks on trees and woodland.
