Kielder Lantern Parade

When: 20th March 2010 (from 12pm for workshop & from 5pm for parade)

Where: Kielder Water & Forest Park, Northumberland

£: Free for parade & 4.50 for latern making workshop

What is it?

The 250 square miles of Kielder Water & Forest Park  is home to the largest forest in England and the largest man-made lake in northern Europe.  Usually famed for having the darkest night skies in England, the park will be hosting a lantern parade.   The parade will include salmon, heron and star shaped lanterns, floating lanterns and water jets.

The lantern making workshops on the day, at Leaplish Waterside Park must be booked in advance.  The evening lantern procession at Leaplish Waterside Park is free to watch.  Visitors taking part should arrive by 5pm and you can book your place by calling 01434 251 000.
